Met Office rules out September heatwave as unsettled weather follows record UK summer

Hoping for one last blast of heat? The Met Office says no. Early September is set to be changeable and often unsettled, with temperatures mostly in the low 20s in the south and cooler further north. Talk of an Indian Summer has been dismissed. It comes after a record-breaking summer, with the UK’s mean temperature provisionally at 16.13°C—topping 2018—and four official heatwaves.
